If the PC uses multiple network adapters (e.g., one Wi-Fi adapter for the GoPro and another for the guest router), you must choose the correct adapter for the guest gallery. This avoids QR codes pointing to the GoPro's private network.
Why this matters
The GoPro creates its own Wi-Fi access point, typically in the 10.5.5.x range. If the gallery server binds to that adapter, the QR codes generated will point to an address that is only reachable from the GoPro network — not from guest devices on the event Wi-Fi.
Recommended two-adapter setup
- Internal PC Wi-Fi connects to the GoPro AP.
- USB Wi-Fi adapter or Ethernet cable connects to the guest router (
192.168.x.x). - In Settings → Network → Gallery/LAN Adapter, select the guest router adapter.
- The gallery IP shown in the app should be in the
192.168.x.xrange, not10.x.x.x.
Setting the Gallery/LAN adapter
- Open Settings → Network.
- In the Gallery/LAN Adapter dropdown, select the adapter connected to the guest router.
- Confirm the IP shown matches the guest network range.
- Restart the gallery server (Stop → Start) if it was already running when you changed the adapter.
Single-adapter setup
If the PC has only one Wi-Fi adapter, you can connect to the guest router and connect to the GoPro via Ethernet or use the GoPro's Bluetooth-only mode for control commands (check GoPro model compatibility). The simplest events use a single router that both the PC and guests connect to, with the GoPro on a separate channel.
